RS JUNIOR (2010) Kevan Smith finished the season unblemished behind the plate with a 1.000 fielding percentage...rotated positions at catcher and designated hitter with senior Cory Brownsten...more than doubled his RBI output from 2009 with 46 on the year...from April 3 to April 13 Smith had multiple hits in all six games...went hitless in just eight of his 55 games...had a career-high four RBI against Seton Hall on May 8...ended the season on a career high 20-game hit streak...was named to the Big East Baseball All-Tournament team batting an amazing .750 in the tournament...was named to the All-Big East First Team.
RS SOPHOMORE (2009) Kevan Smith established a strong presence in the Panthers' lineup in 2009, posting the second-best batting average on the team at .363 (37-for-102)...made 32 appearances throughout the season and started 27 games...batted .420 with runners on base and a solid .357 with runners in scoring position...first collegiate hit was a game-winning pinch-hit triple in the 11th inning against St. Bonaventure on March 7...carried a team-high 21-game hitting streak, the longest for a Panther player in the past decade...slugged .520 for the year with three homeruns, 21 RBI and 19 runs scored.
