Wood posted a perfect 6-0 record as a senior with 71 strikeouts and only nine walks in 53 innings pitched for a 2.42 ERA...was a four-year member of the Union Endicott High School baseball team under head coach Ed Foli...helped the team post a perfect 19-0 record as a freshman and a 21-1 record as a sophomore...helped the team capture two STAC Championships, as well as a Section Five Championship and eighth-place finish in the state...was selected to the All-STAC Senior Team, was an All-State fourth team selection as a junior and was an All-State second team selection as a senior.
