10 Pitt Baseball Games to Air Live on ESPN3

Feb. 6, 2014

Greensboro, N.C. – The University of Pittsburgh baseball team will see 10 of its 2014 regular season contests air live on ESPN3, the Atlantic Coast Conference and the ESPN Family of Networks announced today.

“This is yet another great benefit to being a part of such a prestigious conference to be able to be televised 10 times for this upcoming baseball season,” said Pitt head coach Joe Jordano. “It provides our recruits, fans, alumni and friends of the program to see us in action throughout the season.  We look forward to our challenge as we continue to build a program that will sustain success at the highest level.  Television exposure is one aspect of that process moving forward. It is an exciting time for Pitt Baseball and all sports at the University of Pittsburgh.”

The Panthers’ three-game series at North Carolina (March 7-9), vs. Virginia (April 4-6) and vs. Clemson (April 18-20) will be broadcast in their entirety. Additionally, Pitt’s Friday, March 14, contest at Virginia Tech will also be streamed live through ESPN3.

The Root Sports and other Regional Sports Networks will also broadcast every game of the ACC Championship from May 20-25.

Pitt returns 16 letterwinners, including six of the nine bats in the lineup and two-thirds of the weekend rotation, from a team that won a school-record 42 games in 2013.

Since 2000, Pitt has been one of the premier programs in the Northeast, winning over 450 games and producing 13 All-Americans, 58 All-Big East honorees and seeing 53 players sign professional contracts.

Pitt opens its inaugural season in the ACC, on Friday, Feb. 14, when it travels to South Carolina to face perennial NCAA contender Coastal Carolina in a three-game series.
