PITTSBURGH - The Pitt baseball team's home opener, scheduled for Wednesday, March 15, has been cancelled. Inclement weather conditions have forced the Panthers' second straight cancellation heading into Big East Conference play.

The Panthers (8-7) had Tuesday's game at Marshall cancelled because of thundershowers that dampened the field, but Wednesday's home opener vs. Duquesne couldn't be played because of the snow showers in the Pittsburgh area Tuesday evening and the cold weather.

Pitt will visit Seton Hall for a three-game series this weekend in South Orange, N.J., the first three Big East games for both schools this season.
