PITTSBURGH – Coming off a weekend sweep at defending Big East champ St. John’s, the University of Pittsburgh baseball team has been ranked 30th in the latest Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll.
The ranking marks the first time that the Panthers have been in the polls since the 2010 season when they climbed to as high as 20th.
Counting the Panthers, three Big East teams are ranked in the latest poll including No. 17 Notre Dame and No. 18 Louisville.
The Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll is the oldest college baseball poll as it dates back to the 1957 college baseball season.
Pitt returns to action on Wednesday, March 27, when it travels to Happy Valley for a midweek showdown with in-state rival Penn State.
