PITTSBURGH - University of Pittsburgh pitcher Ethan Mildren (JR/Hopwood, Pa.) has been named the Big East Honor Roll, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Mildren earns the honor after throwing his fifth-career complete game in a win over Towson in the series opener. While going the distance, Mildren only allowed six hits and one earned run while striking out six in the victory.
Mildren becomes the fifth Panthers to take home Big East honors on the season joining Stephen Vranka (JR/Monroeville, Pa.), Matt Wotherspoon (JR/Mountain Top, Pa.) and Boo Vazquez (SO/Youngstown, Ohio), who have also been named to the Honor Roll, and Casey Roche (JR/Downingtown, Pa.) who was named Big East Player of the Week on Feb. 18.
Pitt returns to action on Tuesday, April 2, when it travels to Akron for a midweek showdown with the Zips.
