PITTSBURGH – Following a weekend sweep of Cincinnati, Boo Vazquez (SO/Youngstown, Ohio) has been named to the Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Vazquez takes home his second Conference honor of the season after a solid week where he went 5-for-10 (.500), tallied two RBIs and scored a pair of runs. One of the runs that Vazquez scored was the game-winner in the second game against the Bearcats where he alertly scored from second base on a fielder’s choice and error to secure a series win for Pitt.
Vazquez adds to an impressive list of Panthers who have taken home Conference accolades in 2013 as Pitt has taken home nine Big East honors on the season.
In addition to the Vazquez, Stephen Vranka (JR/Monroeville, Pa.), Ethan Mildren (JR/Hopwood, Pa.) and Casey Roche (JR/Downingtown, Pa.) have also garnered multiple Conference honors during the year while Matt Wotherspoon (JR/Mountain Top, Pa.) has also been named to the Honor Roll on the year.
Pitt returns to action tomorrow, Tuesday, April 30, when they travel to Morgantown to face rival West Virginia in a midweek contest.
