Day one of the Panther Classic Baseball Tournament, which was supposed to consist of a 6 p.m. matchup between Pitt and Coppin State this evening at Trees Field, has been cancelled.

"The game has been cancelled due to the fact that Coppin State will be over the 56-game limit if they play all four games of the tournament," stated Pitt skipper Joe Jordano.

Tuesday and Wednesday's games will be played at their previously scheduled times. Tuesday includes a showdown between Coppin State and Central Michigan at noon, followed by a 3 p.m. game with Pitt and Coppin State. Wednesday will see the Panthers play twice, against Central Michigan at noon before concluding the tournament with another game against Coppin State at 3 p.m. All games will be played at Trees Field.
