Pitt Baseball to Face St. John's in First Round of Big East Tournament

The No. 4 seed Panthers and No. 1 seed Red Storm will face off on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at Commerce Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater, N.J.

PITTSBURGH -- For the second straight year, Pitt's baseball team will open Big East Tournament play against St. John's. The Panthers, who finished the regular season with a 31-20 overall record and a 15-10 league mark, earned the fourth seed and will battle top-seeded SJU on Thursday, May 26, at Commerce Bank Ballpark (Bridgewater, N.J.) with first pitch set for 3:30 p.m.

Last year, Pitt suffered a 4-2 loss to the Red Storm in the opening round of the Big East Tournament.

The following is a look at the Big East Tournament schedule:

 

Thursday, May 26

Game 1 - No. 1 St. John's vs. No. 4 Pitt, 3:30 p.m.

Game 2 - No. 2 Boston College vs. No. 3 Notre Dame, 7 p.m.

 

Friday, May 27

Game 3 - Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2, Noon

Game 4 - Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2, 3:30 p.m.

Game 5 - Winner Game 3 vs. Loser Game 4, 7 p.m.

 

Saturday, May 28

Game 6 - Winner Game 4 vs. Winner Game 5, 3:30 p.m.

Game 7 - Same teams as Game 6, if necessary, 7 p.m.
