PITTSBURGH - University of Pittsburgh baseball head coach Joe Jordano led the Panthers to one of the best seasons in recent years and has now been able to enjoy watching several of his players earn post-season accolades.

The Panthers had three players selected in the 2009 draft - Chris Sedon (10th rd., Detroit Tigers), Nate Reed (20th rd., Chicago White Sox) and incoming recruit Royce Consigli (30th rd., Oakland Athletics). Sedon and Reed marked the 15th and 16th players to be drafted under the guidance of Jordano, who has had 35 of his former players sign professional contacts.

In addition to being drafted in the 10th round, Sedon has been selected to two of the most prestegious all-America teams in the country, garnering Collegiate News Louisville Slugger First Team All-America honors and Baseball America Second Team All-America honors.
