The Pitt baseball team will hold open tryouts for potential walk-on players on Wednesday, September 12, at Charles L. Cost Field. The tryout, which is open to current Pitt students, will take place immediately following the Panthers’ practice at 5:30 p.m.
Prior to attending the tryout, those interested must attend a mandatory meeting at the ticket gate of the Petersen Sports Complex on Wednesday, September 5, at 2 p.m. Any potential walk-ons that fail to attend this meeting and complete the proper paperwork will not be permitted to attend the tryout.
The Pitt baseball team is led by the winningest coach in the program’s history in Joe Jordano. Entering his 26th season overall and 16th at Pitt, Jordano has accumulated 710 career wins, including 427 with the Panthers.
The Panthers are set to begin their final season in the Big East Conference and have qualified for the last four postseason tournaments.
