PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh baseball team will hold open tryouts for potential walk-on players on Monday, September 9, at 3 p.m. at Charles L. Cost Field at the Petersen Sports Complex on Upper Campus.
Prior to the tryouts, which are open to students enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh, potential walk-ons must fill out the proper paperwork, which can be picked up at the Pitt Baseball offices on the third floor of Fitzgerald Field House.
Potential walk-ons who do not complete the paperwork, and return it by Friday, September 6, will be unable to attend the tryout.
The Panthers, who will begin their inaugural season in the ACC in 2014, are coming off one of the most successful seasons the school history. In the 2013 campaign, Pitt tallied a program-best 42-17 (18-6 Big East) record that featured eight weekend series sweeps. Additionally, the Panthers were ranked in all five major college baseball polls for the first time in history.
