THE STORYLINE

Redshirt sophomore Chris Jones is back for his third year at Pitt after earning significant minutes off the bench last year. Jones, who saw action in 30 games and 222 minutes in 2013-14, provides the Panthers with a total package of skills including shooting ability, steady passing and size on the defensive end at both small forward and shooting guard. A 6-foot-6 multi-dimensional shooting guard who can also slide over and play small forward, Chris Jones brings elite size, athleticism, strength and ability to the shooting guard position. Jones has been described as a natural leader and consistent shooter, who also possesses game-changing athleticism and slashing ability. He brings a unique versatility on defense with his ability to guard all three perimeter positions. Jones has a high basketball IQ and the ability to make his teammates better. A premier offensive player, his strengths are his ability to hit jumpers off the dribble and adeptness at creating his own shot. Jones is a proven winner who excels not only on the court, but off it as well. A late signee in April, 2012, Jones was one of the top high school players in the state of New Jersey.
