THE STORYLINE

Chris Jones is back for his second year at Pitt after redshirting the 2012-13 season. A 6-foot-6 multi-dimensional shooting guard who can also slide over and play small forward, Chris Jones was one of the top players in the state of New Jersey. He brings elite size, athleticism, strength and ability to the shooting guard position. Jones has been described as a natural leader and a consistent shooter, who also possesses game-changing athleticism and slashing ability. He brings a unique versatility on defense with his ability to guard all three perimeter positions. His game is expected to transition smoothly to the collegiate level because of his high basketball IQ and ability to make his teammates better. A premier offensive player, his strengths are his ability to hit jumpers off the dribble and ability to create his own shot. Jones is a proven winner who excels not only on the court, but off it as well. A late signee, Jones signed in April, 2012.
