Freshman Season: Yuri Demetris redshirted during the 2000-01 season...he will have four years of remaining eligibility.

Prior to Pittsburgh: Led the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) in scoring during his senior season with a 30.7 average...ended his career ranked eighth on the WPIAL all-time scoring list with 2,221 career points...a second-team Associated Press All-State selection, as well as a member of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's "Fabulous Five" and a first-team honoree on the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's "Terrific 10"...twice named a Street & Smith's All-American...averaged 6.8 assists and 5.0 rebounds as a senior to lead Shaler to a Class AAAA Section 3 championship...a three-time all-section performer and 2000 MVP...he scored a career-high 43 points twice (versus Windsor [Conn.] and McKeesport) and topped 30 points 13 times as a senior alone...averaged 26.1 points as a junior to rank second in the WPIAL and 25.2 points as a sophomore...coached by Howie Ruppert.
