Joseph Uchebo Bio(pdf) | Career Stats and Game-by-Game Stats |

A skilled post player with size, Joseph Uchebo (pronounced Ooh-Chee-Bow) enters his junior season with much promise. Last year, Uchebo saw action in only nine games and 23 minutes while recovering from a knee injury suffered two years ago in junior college. Over the summer, Uchebo has proven to be one of Pitt's most intriguing players after he averaged 7.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game in Pitt's four-game Bahamas Foreign Tour and displayed the same production in Summer League play. In addition, Uchebo dropped 20 pounds and improved his mobility. Uchebo is a pure rebounder with good hands who has natural athletic ability and excels with more skill and size than most at his position. He is a big and physical kid who loves to mix it up down low and is a productive rebounder despite not being an above the rim guy. He knows how to carve out space and has excellent hands which routinely allow him to pull in double figure rebounds. An active post player, Uchebo loves contact and is a load in the low blocks. He is aggressive rebounding the ball on both ends of the floor. With his athleticism, raw talent and surprising skill, his potential is higher than most at his position.
