A skilled post player with size, Joseph Uchebo (pronounced Ooh-Chee-Bow) is junior college transfer from Chipola Junior College who will have three seasons of collegiate eligibility remaining at Pitt. Coming off a knee injury that ended his 2012-13 season, Uchebo is described as a pure rebounder with good hands who has natural athletic ability and excels with more skill and size than most at his position. He is a big and physical kid who loves to mix it up down low and is a productive rebounder despite not being an above the rim guy. He knows how to carve out space and has excellent hands which routinely allow him to pull in double figure boards. An active post player, Uchebo loves contact and is a load in the low blocks. He is aggressive rebounding the ball on both ends of the floor. With his athleticism, raw talent and surprising skill, his potential is higher than most at his position.
