Tiesi (pronounced Tee-zee) is a sophomore walk-on guard who joined the Pitt basketball team last January. He played his freshman season at NCAA Division II Bellarmine University in Louisville, Ky. before moving back to Pittsburgh and enrolling at the University of Pittsburgh.

Played the 2006-07 season at point guard for NCAA Division II Bellarmine College in Louisville, Ky. for Head Coach Scott Davenport...Named a Great Lakes Valley Conference All-Academic selection and received the Monsignor Horrigan Academic Scholarship as a freshman...Started 24, played in 27 games and averaged 21.7 minutes per game as a freshman...Averaged 4.2 points, 0.9 rebounds and dished out 56 assists...Shot 39.6 percent (21-53) from 3-point range, contributed 39 field goals and 13 steals...Bellarmine (12-15) played NCAA Division I teams Notre Dame, Saint Joseph's, Louisville and Ohio...Played a season-high 33 minutes vs. Notre Dame.
A 2006 graduate of North Allegheny High School where he was coached by Dave DeGregorio...Concluded his career as the all-time leading scorer at North Allegheny with 1,072 points while guiding his team to two sectional titles...Named a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Class 4A Fab Five as a senior...Two-time Pittsburgh North Fabulous Five and All-Sectional honoree as both a junior and senior...Averaged 16.7 points and 4.3 assists per game, shot 72.5 percent from the free throw line and led the team with 37 steals as a senior...Led North Allegheny to a 17-7 record during his senior season... Named North Allegheny High School 2006 Male Athlete of the Year...Averaged 15 points, six rebounds and 4.5 assists per game while guiding North Allegheny to a 20-6 record as a junior...Led the Tigers in assists with 99 and ranked third on the team with 106 rebounds...Earned State College Tipoff Tournament Most Valuable Player honors as a senior...Four-year varsity starter and letterwinner...Averaged 8.0 points per game as both a sophomore and freshman...Played AAU basketball for the Pittsburgh JOTS and Born to Run squad.
