*With the loss, the Panthers’ record in the Petersen Events Center drops to 156-15 and 65-12 all-time against Big East opponents. They have now won 62 of their last 67 home games and 27 of their last 30 Big East home games.
*Pitt is currently on a three game losing streak with consecutive losses to Wagner, Notre Dame and Cincinnati. It marks the Panthers’ first three game losing streak since they dropped three in a row during the 2007-08 season with losses to Marquette, Notre Dame and Louisville in February.
*The Panthers fell to 0-2 in Big East play. The last time Pitt started off the Big East schedule with an 0-2 record was during the 1999-2000 season.
*The loss is Pitt’s second straight in the Petersen Events Center. Pitt has only lost consecutive games in the 10-year old, 171-game venue three times. The last time Pitt dropped back-to-back games at the Petersen Events Center was in 2005.
*The loss drops Pitt’s all-time record against Cincinnati to 8-8 and snaps its five-game win streak against the Bearcats. Pitt is now 4-1 vs. Cincinnati at the Petersen Events Center.
*Following a loss, Pitt head coach Jamie Dixon drops to 42-13.
*Robinson’s 19 points and 10 rebounds marked his ninth career double-double and his 19 points marked his 30th career double figure scoring game.
*It was Gibbs’ 14th game this season scoring in double figures and the 74th with double digit scoring in his career.
*Patterson’s 13 points also marked his sixth game of the season scoring in double figures and the eighth of his career.
*Pitt outrebounded Cincinnati 44-30. The game marked the 13th time the Panthers have outrebounded their opponent this season and the 11th time they’ve outrebounded an opponent by nine or more.
*Dante Taylor tied his season-high with 11 rebounds. He also had 11 rebounds on Nov. 30, 2011 against Duquesne. His career-high is 12 rebounds.
*The Panthers committed 17 turnovers. It’s the ninth time this season they’ve turned the ball over 10 or more times. Pitt’s 14:17 assist:turnover ratio was the fourth time this season they’ve had a negative ratio in that category.
*Cincinnati went 11-for-27 (40.7 percent) from 3-point range. The 27 3-point attempts are the second most an opponent has taken against the Panthers this season. VMI attempted 30 three-pointers against Pitt on Dec. 6, 2011.
*John Johnson tied a career-high with five assists. He also recorded five assists against VMI on Dec. 6, 2011.
