*The loss drops Pitt’s record in the Petersen Events Center to 159-19 and 68-16 against Big East opponents in the venue. Pitt has won 65 of its last 74 home games and 30 of its last 37 Big East home games.
*South Florida evened its all-time record against Pitt to 5-5 and gained its first ever win in the Petersen Events Center. USF’s record in the building is now 1-3.
*Jamie Dixon is now 43-21 in games following a loss. Dixon dropped his fourth game in a row, his second longest losing streak in his coaching career.
*J.J. Moore set career-highs in points (21) field goal attempts (14) and free throws made (four). He tied career-highs for minutes played (31), steals (two), field goals made (eight) and free throw attempts (six). The game marked Moore’s first career game with at least 20 points. Moore has now scored in double figures for the sixth time this year and the 10th time in his career. After scoring 10 points in Pitt’s previous game against West Virginia, this marks the first time in his career that he’s had back-to-back double figure scoring games.
*Pitt scored 47 points in the game, its second-lowest point total of the season. The Panthers’ lowest point total came on Jan. 11, 2012 in a 62-39 loss against Rutgers.
*The Panthers shot 34.6 percent from field goal range, tying their second lowest field goal shooting percentage of the season. Their season low came on Jan. 11, 2012 in a 62-39 loss against Rutgers where they shot 21.1 percent. Pitt also shot 34.6 percent in its 63-51 loss at South Florida on Feb. 8.
