•Pitt improved to 22-7 on the year and 10-6 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Panthers are currently in fifth place in the ACC with two games to go: vs. North Carolina State on March 3 and at Clemson (March 8).
•Pitt won its 10th conference game of the year. Pitt has now totaled 10 or more league regular season wins in 12 of the last 13 seasons. Pitt has also won 20 overall and 10 league games in 12 of the last 13 years.
•Pitt won its 22nd game of the year. The 22 wins rank as the 15th most in school history.
•Pitt improved to 6-2 in its eight road games this year. Pitt has now claimed eight of its last 10 road games and 12 of its last 16. It has one more road game remaining: at Clemson on March 8.
•Pitt improved to 3-0 on the year in overtime games. It won at Miami (Feb. 5), vs. Virginia Tech (Feb. 8) and at Notre Dame (March 1).
•Pitt 20 points scored in the overtime period were the most points ever scored by a Pitt team in a one overtime game. The 20 points surpassed the previous record of 16 points scored at Butler on March 21, 2012.
•Pitt outrebounded Notre Dame by a plus-16 margin (38-22). It represented the second largest rebound margin for Pitt in ACC play this season.
•Pitt grabbed a season-high 21 offensive rebounds. Previously, Pitt’s season-high was 20 offensive rebounds vs. Youngstown State on Dec. 14, 2013. Pitt outscored Notre Dame 21-5 on second chance points and registered 42 points in the paint.
•Notre Dame shot 54.8 percent (23-42) from the floor, the best percentage by a Pitt opponent this year. It also hit 12 3-pointers, the second-highest total for a Pitt opponent this year.
•Lamar Patterson led Pitt with 20 points, the 17th time that he has led Pitt in scoring this season. Patterson totaled 20 or more points for the 10th time this year and 11th time in his career. He also notched his 27th double figure scoring game of the year and 64th of his career. With his team-leading seven assists, Patterson became the third player in school history to total 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 400 assists in a career.
•With his 17 points and 14 rebounds, Talib Zanna registered his 15th career double-double and ninth of the year. He also grabbed a career-high 10 offensive rebounds.
•With his 15 points, Cameron Wright totaled his 17th double figure scoring game of the year and 21st of his career.
•Michael Young totaled 13 points, his fifth double figure scoring game of his career. He also a converted a career-high tying 6-6 free throws.
•With the win, Pitt snapped a five-game losing streak and a three-game road losing streak to Notre Dame. The last time Pitt won at Notre Dame was on March 5, 2005, an 85-77 win at the Joyce Center. Pitt improves to 28-31 vs. Notre Dame in the 59-game series. Pitt improved to 10-18 in games played at Notre Dame and 5-11 at the Joyce Center. Pitt is also 5-1 all-time in overtime vs. Notre Dame.
