*Tonight's game was Pitt's first-ever contest in the fifth-annual College Basketball Invitational. It is the Panthers 12th consecutive postseason appearance and for the first time in 11 seasons, Pitt will not be playing in the NCAA Tournament. Pitt's streak of advancing to the NCAA Tournament each of the past 10 seasons made it one of only seven programs to do so.
*Pitt advances to play Princeton next Monday at 7 p.m. at the Petersen Events Center in the CBI Second Round. Princeton defeated Evansville in its first round game, 95-86.
*The win improves the Panthers' record in the Petersen Events Center to 161-19. Pitt has won 67 of its last 76 home games.
*The game was the second meeting in series history. Pitt improves to 2-0 against Wofford with the previous win coming in a 63-60 victory at the Petersen Events Center on Nov. 13, 2009.
*Pitt hit a season-high and tied its Petersen Events Center record with 14 3-pointers in the game. The Panthers finished 14-25 (56 percent) from three-point range. Pitt also shot 55 percent from field goal range, its third best percentage on the year. The Panthers shot 63.3 percent from field goal range in an 89-69 win in the Big East Tournament on Feb. 29, 2012 over St. John's and 58.5 percent in a 78-58 win over Penn on Nov. 25, 2011.
*The Panthers tied a season low with six turnovers. They also had six turnovers in a 61-56 win at Tennessee on Dec. 3, 2011.
*Ashton Gibbs' 12 points pulled him into a tie for eighth place on Pitt's all-time career scoring list with Billy Knight. They each have 1,731 points. It was Gibbs' 88th career double figure scoring game and his fifth in a row.
*J.J. Moore and Tray Woodall tied for the team lead in scoring with 16 points each. Moore has now scored in double figures 10 times this season and 14 times in his career. Moore tied career-highs for 3-point field goals made (four) and 3-point field goal attempts (six). It was Woodall's 12th game in double figure scoring this season and the 23rd of his career.
*Talib Zanna tied a career-high with 16 points. He also scored 16 points this season against DePaul on Jan. 5, 2012. He reached double figures for the fifth time this season and was his first in double figures since the DePaul contest in January.
*Lamar Patterson scored 13 points to reach double figures for the 14th time this season and the 16th time in his career.
*Nasir Robinson finished with six points and 11 rebounds. His 11 rebounds marked the sixth time this season that he's recorded double digits in rebounds and the 14th time in his career.
*The Panthers converted only 1-3 from the free throw line. The Panthers one made free throw tied for the lowest total in the Jamie Dixon Era. It has now happened three times since Dixon has been Pitt's head coach.
*Pitt's bench outscored Wofford's 31-13.
