NIT Season Tip-Off – Pitt 86, Fordham 51
*Pitt defeated Fordham in the opening round of the 2012 NIT Season Tip-Off to improve to 2-0 on the season, while Fordham drops to 0-2.
*This is the 15th consecutive season that the Panthers have started 2-0.
*Pitt is now 93-3 in non-conference games at the Petersen Events Center and 46-1 in the month of November.
*J.J. Moore scored a game-high 20 points, one point shy of his career-high (21 vs. USF last season on Feb. 19).
*Pittsburgh’s 35-point margin of victory was its largest since the Panthers defeated North Florida by 46 on Nov. 13, 2010 (95-49).
*Pitt shot 53 percent for the game (34-of-64), and is now shooting 64.3 percent through its first two games (72-of-112).
*Freshman Steven Adams scored a career-high 13 points on 5-of-5 shooting from the floor. He is now 9-of-10 shooting on the season.
*Tray Woodall has a 4-1 assist to turnover ratio through the first two games of the 2012-13 campaign (12 assists, three turnovers). The senior is averaging 13 points and six assists.
*Collectively, Pitt had 24 assists, the most since the Panthers had 24 in the opening game of the 2011-12 campaign. The Panthers defeated Albany 89-56 in last year’s opener.
*The Panthers led Fordham by 19 points at halftime (37-18), its largest halftime advantage since Pitt led Princeton by 24 last season (49-25, March 19, 2012).
*Pitt committed just six turnovers the entire game while forcing Fordham into 24.
*Pitt led wire-to-wire against the Rams.
