NIT Season Tip-Off Consolation Game

*Pitt finished the NIT Season Tip-Off in third place after a 26-point victory over Delaware (85-59). Pitt is now 5-1 on the year.
*Pitt played its 44th game at Madison Square Garden since the 2000-01 season. With the win, Pitt improved to 29-15 in those games. Pitt has now won 17 of its last 26 contests at MSG. Overall, Pitt played in its 87th all-time contest at Madison Square Garden and improved to 44-43 overall. Pitt plays at St. John's at MSG on Feb. 24, then plays in the Big East Championship in March.
*Jamie Dixon improved to 21-13 all-time in games coached at Madison Square Garden.
*Pitt shot 58.9 percent (33-56) in the game, including 65.4 percent (17-26) in the first half alone. Pitt never trailed in the entire game and led by as many as 27 points with 6:00 to go in the game.
*Pitt finished with 25 assists on 33 field goals. The 25 assists marked a team season-high.
*Talib Zanna was named to the NIT Season Tip-Off All-Tournament team..
*Pitt also shot a team season-high 88.2 percent (15-17) from the free throw line.
*Talib Zanna (18 points/10 rebounds) and Lamar Patterson (16 points/10 rebounds) both notched double-doubles.
*Talib Zanna registered his fifth career double-double and first of the season with a 18-point, 10-rebound performance. It marked his third double figure performance of the season, 16th of his career and first double figure rebounding game of the year and seventh of his career. Zanna also tied career-highs for free throws made (six) and assists (three) in a season-high 28 minutes played.
*Lamar Patterson totaled his third career-double-double. It was his first of the year, 22nd career double figure scoring game and fourth career double figure rebounding contests. In Pitt's two NIT Season Tip-Off games, Patterson averaged 15.0 points, hit 11-20 field goals, 3-7 3-pointers, averaged 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. Patterson also finished with four assists and no turnovers. On the year, he has 23 assists and only five turnovers.
*With 13 points, Tray Woodall notched his fourth double figure scoring game of the year and 30th of his career. He also finished with seven assists and now has 452 on the year.
*Steven Adams tied a career-high with 13 points and set career-highs for field goals made (six) and field goal attempts (nine) in 24 minutes. It was his second double figure scoring game of his career.
*J.J. Moore finished with 10 points off the bench for his third double figure scoring game in six contests this year. He now has reached double figure scoring in 20 games in his career. Moore also tied career-highs for free throws made (five) and free throw attempts (six).
*Pitt and Delaware met for the first time in men's basketball. Pitt improved to 13-9 all-time vs. Colonial Athletic Association programs.
*Pitt competed in the Preseason NIT/NIT Season Tip-Off for the second time in school history. The last time the Panthers played in the event was in 1991 when it advanced to New York City with consecutive wins over Manhattan and Kentucky. Pitt went 1-1 at Madison Square Garden when it dropped a 74-63 contest to Oklahoma State and defeated Texas 91-87 in the Consolation Game.
