*With its 76-53 win over Texas Tech, Pitt advances to the Progressive Legends Classic Championship Game on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 9:30 p.m. on ESPNU against Stanford. Stanford claimed an 86-76 semifinal win over Houston.
*Pitt has now swept its slate of the Progressive Legends Classic with victories against Howard (84-52), Lehigh (77-58) and Texas Tech (76-53). Including four wins in the 2008 Legends Classic, Pitt is now a combined 7-0 in Legends Classic games with one contest to go.
*The Panthers have held each of their first five opponents on the season to 60 or fewer points.
*Pitt finished with a season-high 12 steals. The last time Pitt registered 12 or more steals was against North Florida on Nov. 8, 2012 when the Panthers finished with 13 steals.
*Pitt led 41-18 at halftime after shooting 46.2 percent (12-26) from the floor and 42.9 percent (6-14) from 3-point range. Texas Tech was held to just 25 percent (6-24) first half shooting.
*Senior Lamar Patterson finished with career-highs for scoring (23 points), field goals made (tied, eight) and steals (five). He also finished with four assists and 4-7 3-point shooting. The contest marked Patterson’s third career 20-point game and second of the season. He has now scored in double figures in four of five games on the year and in 41 career contests. He surpassed previous career-highs for points (22 vs. Marquette on Jan. 12, 2013) and steals (4, two times). Patterson also tied a career-high with 13 field goal attempts.
*With 12 points, junior Cameron Wright registered his third double figure scoring game in five games this year and seventh career contest. Wright also tied a career-high with four steals for the third time in his career.
*Redshirt freshman Chris Jones scored a career-high eight points on 2-3 3-point field goal shooting in nine minutes.
*Pitt improved to 43-20 overall in games played in the New York City/New Jersey area since the 2000-01 season.
*Pitt improved to 2-0 all-time against Texas Tech. The Panthers last defeated the Red Raiders on Nov. 28, 2008 in the 2008 Legends Classic. Pitt ended up winning the 2008 Legends Classic after defeating Washington State in the title game.
