*Pitt defeated North Florida by 42 points, 89-47 and improves to 9-1 on the season, while UNF falls to 3-6. Pitt improved to 9-1 or better after 10 games for the third straight year and for the 11th time in the last 12 seasons. Pitt began 8-2 in 2009-10.
*North Florida did not attempt a free throw in the game and was 0-0 from the free throw line. The 0-0 marked the fewest amount of free throw attempts for an opponent in Pitt school history. The previous Pitt opponent low was one free throw attempt by Albany on Nov. 28, 2003. The zero free throws made was also a record. The previous record was one free throw made in three different games, Albany, Nov. 28, 2003, William & Mary, Jan. 3, 2004 and Connecticut, Jan. 31, 1987.
*Pitt turned the ball over only five times in the game. The five turnovers tied for the sixth fewest turnovers in a game in school history. The school record is three, set vs. Washington State last year on March 30, 2012.
*The 42-point win ranked tied for the 17th all-time largest victory in school history.
*Pitt won its 12th consecutive home game, its ninth longest home win streak in school history. Pitt also improves to 171-19 at the Petersen Events Center and 98-3 against non-conference opponents. The Panthers have won 119 of their last 123 home games against non-conference opponents.
*Pitt outscored North Florida 48-17 in the second half alone. The Panthers hit 62.1 percent (18-29) of their shots in the second half alone. Pitt also outrebounded UNF 23-7 in the second half.
*Dante Taylor led Pitt with a season-high 16 points, including 12 in the second half alone. He also registered a career-high three steals in the contest. The 16-point performance marked his 15th double figure scoring game of his career and second of the season.
*Tray Woodall scored 14 points (7-8 FG) with a game and season-high tying nine assists. It marked his fifth consecutive double figure scoring game, his 34th of his career and eighth this season. His streak of 16-games with at least one 3-point field goal made came to an end.
*Steven Adams tied a career-high with four blocked shots. He also registered four blocks against Mount St. Mary’s on Nov. 9, 2012.
*Lamar Patterson registered his sixth consecutive double figure scoring game. Patterson has now totaled 26 career double figure scoring games and six this year.
*Cameron Wright finished the contest with 10 points (5-9 FG) and a season-high tying three steals. He reached double figure scoring for the third time in his career.
*Talib Zanna finished with 15 points, his 19th career double figure scoring game and sixth of the season.
*Pitt outscored North Florida 42-18 in the paint and 34-11 in bench scoring.
