*Pitt defeated Florida State 56-48. The game marked Pitt's first road game of the season. The Panthers have claimed eight of their last 10 non-conference road games under Head Coach Jamie Dixon (2003-08). Pitt's next game is at Rutgers on Dec. 31.
*With the win, Pitt rose to No. 1 nationally in Ratings Percentage Index rankings, according to realtimerpi.com.
*With the win, Pitt became the first team in the country to win 12 games and go 12-0.
*With his 21 points, Sam Young surpassed the 20-point mark for the sixth time this year and 23rd time in his career. Young has scored over 20 points in five of his last eight games played.
*DeJuan Blair registered his eighth double-double of the year and 22nd of his career. Blair finished the game with 10 points and 12 rebounds. He also grabbed five offensive rebounds and totaled at least five offensive rebounds in seven games this year. Blair's five steals matched a career-high. He also finished with five steals vs. Duquesne on Dec. 3, 2008 and vs. Akron on Nov. 21, 2008.
*With his 11 points, Jermaine Dixon reached double figures for the fourth time on the year. His two 3-point field goals matched a career-high for the second time this year. The game marked a Homecoming for Dixon, who played his junior college basketball at nearby Tallahassee Junior College.
*Pitt improves to 12-0 for the third time in his six years as head coach. He also began a season with a 12-0 record in 2003-04 and 2007-08. Additionally, Dixon has guided Pitt to an undefeated 10-0 record through Pitt's first 10 games in each of his six seasons.
*Head Coach Jamie Dixon improves to 38-3 in December games. He improves to 72-4 vs. non-conference opponents in his first six seasons as head coach.
*Head Coach Jamie Dixon improved to 144-40. He now needs just four more wins to surpass Paul Evans for third place on Pitt's all-time coaching wins list. Evans was 147-98 in eight years at Pitt from 1986-94.
*Pitt improved to 9-1 all-time vs. the Seminoles. The Panthers claimed their sixth straight win over Florida State.
