*Following today’s victory, Pitt (11-1) has one more non-conference game (vs. Albany, Dec. 31) before Atlantic Coast Conference begins in January. Pitt’s first ACC game is at North Carolina State (Jan. 4). Pitt’s first ACC home game is against Maryland at the Petersen Events Center on Jan. 6 (7 p.m. on ESPNU).
*With his 30 points, Lamar Patterson set career-highs for points (30), field goals made (11) and field goal attempts (15). Patterson concluded the game just one point shy of 1,000 career points. He needs just one more point to become the 42nd player in school history to surpass the 1,000-point mark for a career.
*Patterson becomes the first player at Pitt to score 30 or more points in a game since Sam Young registered 32 vs. Oklahoma State in the NCAA Tournament on March 22, 2009. He was three shy of Pitt’s Petersen Events Center scoring record of 33 points, also held by Sam Young vs. Belmont on Nov. 25, 2008.
*Patterson registered his fifth career 20-point scoring game, fourth of the year, 10th consecutive double figure scoring game and 11th double figure scoring game of the year.
*With its perfect 12-12 performance from the free throw line today, Pitt tied a school record for free throw percentage (1.000). Pitt tied its school-record of 16-16 (1.000) vs. Syracuse on Feb. 1, 1998. Pitt also hit a perfect 12-12 vs. Gettysburg on Dec. 1, 1971. The 12-12 performance marked a Petersen Events Center record.
*With his 12 points, Durand Johnson registered his sixth career double figure scoring game. He tied a career-high with five field goals made.
*Cameron Wright tied a career-high with four steals today.
*James Robinson finished with a career-high tying two blocked shots.
*The win improved Pitt to 8-0 at home on the year.
*With this afternoon’s victory, Pitt improved its home win streak to 10 games and also extended its streak of consecutive wins against non-conference opponents at home to 18 games. Pitt has now won 130 of its last 134 home games against regular season home opponents.
*Head Coach Jamie Dixon improved to 130-11 all-time against non-conference opponents. The Panthers have won 10 or more non-conference games in 13 straight seasons.
*Pitt is now 188-22 all-time at the Petersen Events Center and has won 94 of its last 106 home games. The Panthers are also 109-3 all-time against non-conference opponents at the Petersen Events Center.
*Dating back to the 2002-03 season, Pitt has posted a 53-3 record in December games against non-conference opponents.
*Pitt finished the first half with zero fouls and Cal Poly had zero free throw attempts.
