PITTSBURGH--With its 68-62 overtime win at Butler last evening, the University of Pittsburgh advances to the 2012 CBI Championship Series presented by Zebra Pen where it will face Washington State in a best two-of-three series.
The series will begin on Monday as Pitt travels to Pullman, Wash. to play the Cougars at Bohler Gymnasium. Tipoff is at 10 p.m. ET on HDNet. Pitt will host game two at the Petersen Events Center on Wednesday, March 28 with tipoff at 7 p.m. ET. If necessary, game three will be played at the Petersen Events Center on Friday, March 30 at 7 p.m. All three games will be televised nationally on HDNet.
Washington State (18-16) advanced to the title game following a 72-55 road win at Oregon State last night.
Pitt (20-16) and Washington State meet for the second time in series history. Pitt last defeated Washington State, 57-43, in the Legends Classic played on November 29, 2009 in Newark, N.J. Pitt plays a game at WSU for the first time in school history. It last visited Pullman, Wash. for a 1982 NCAA Tournament First Round contest vs. Pepperdine.
