PITTSBURGH – Sophomore Damon Wilson has elected to transfer from the Pitt men’s basketball program, school officials announced Wednesday morning. Wilson is expected to leave in good academic standing and will have two years of eligibility remaining.

“Damon has decided to continue his career elsewhere,” head coach Kevin Stallings said. “We appreciate his efforts here at Pitt and support his decision to pursue other opportunities. We wish the best for him on and off the court.”

Wilson averaged 2.1 points and 0.8 rebounds per game over 57 career contests at Pitt. He averaged 0.9 points per game last season with a season-high seven points in a home loss to Louisville. Wilson posted a career-high 20 points in a lopsided win over Central Arkansas last season.

Wilson becomes the third underclassman to depart the program, joining sophomore Crisshawn Clark and freshman Corey Manigault. Freshman Justice Kitchart was also dismissed from the team in early March.
