PITTSBURGH--The University of Pittsburgh's Jamie Dixon and selected Panthers basketball players will attend and participate in the Team Children's Sports Fest on Saturday, June 16 at the Robert Morris University Island Sports Center on Neville Island.
Sponsored by UPMC with all proceeds benefitting the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation, the Children Sports Fest's purpose is to promote the cause of fitness and good nutrition. Activities for youth include basketball, ice and floor hockey, volleyball, cheerleading, lacrosse, softball, football, ice skating, golf, soccer, track and more. Also included are free giveaways and exhibitors providing information and activities to learn about healthful eating and exercising.
The event will run from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation. To purchase tickets, visit www.givetochildrens.org.
Other Pittsburgh sports personalities expected to attend include Pittsburgh Penguins coach Dan Bylsma and Robert Morris assistant football coach John Banaszak. Dixon and the Pitt players are scheduled to participate between 10 a.m.-noon.
