PITTSBURGH--The University of Pittsburgh announced final game times and local television for its entire 31-game 2011-12 men's basketball schedule on Wednesday. In total, Pitt will appear on national television 17 times, including 15 contests on the ESPN family of networks.
Pitt's first basketball-related event is the Maggie Dixon Heart Health Fair/Fan Fest and Blue Gold Scrimmage on Saturday, Oct. 22 at the Petersen Events Center. The Maggie Dixon Heart Health Fair and Fan Fest begins at 2:30 p.m., while tipoff for the Blue Gold Scrimmage is at 5 p.m. and will be broadcast on Pitt Panthers Television.
The NCAA mandated first day of practice is Friday, Oct. 14.

Pitt will enter the 2011-12 season as a consensus top-20 ranked team. Pitt returns two starters and seven of its top-10 letterwinners from a squad that won the Big East regular season title outright with a 15-3 record, finished 28-6 overall, garnered a No. 1 seed upon entering the NCAA Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the 10th consecutive season.
