PITTSBURGH—It will be a homecoming for former Pitt star and Pittsburgh native DeJuan Blair this evening when his San Antonio Spurs face the Cleveland Cavaliers in an exhibition game at the Petersen Events Center. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m.
Blair, a Pittsburgh native and Schenley High School graduate who played at Pitt from 2007-09, averaged 7.8 points and 6.4 rebounds in 82 games as a rookie last year for the Spurs. Through three preseason games this year, he’s averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game and has reached double-figures in each contest.
Blair averaged more than 15 points and 12 rebounds per game during his sophomore year at Pitt while helping guide Pitt to its first-ever Elite Eight appearance. Following the 2008-09 season, he was drafted by San Antonio in the second round of the 2009 NBA Draft.
