PITTSBURGH--The Pitt-Long Beach State men's basketball game scheduled for Wednesday, November 16 has been moved to 9 p.m. ET to accommodate a national television broadcast on ESPN-U. Due to the NBA lockout, the contest was upgraded from a 7 p.m. ESPN3.com contest to a national TV timeslot.
The No. 10 ranked Panthers will now play 18 games on national television this season including 10 on either ESPN or ESPN2, one on CBS Sports, four on ESPN-U and one on CBS-College Sports. The 18 national telecasts tie a Pitt Basketball record for most regular season TV games.
For the second time in program history, Pitt will host the popular ESPN College GameDay broadcast prior to its Saturday, January 21 contest vs. Louisville. The live national broadcasts from the Petersen Events Center that day begin at 10 a.m. ET and conclude with a 9 p.m. tipoff.
Pitt will play its second exhibition game on Monday, November 7 against Kentucky Wesleyan at the Petersen Events Center. Tipoff for that contest is at 7 p.m. It will be televised live in Southwestern Pennsylvania on Pitt Panthers Television (Comcast Channel 188 or 210).
