PITTSBURGH--In honor of Head Coach Jamie Dixon's 200th career victory, the University of Pittsburgh athletic department announced that it will make 200 standing room only tickets available for Monday's No. 4 Connecticut vs. No. 6 Pitt basketball game at the Petersen Events Center.
Tickets will be made available at the Panthers Ticket Office beginning at 5 p.m. prior to the contest on Monday, Dec. 27. The ticket price is $27.50, and they will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis with a limit of two tickets per person. Acceptable forms of payment are cash and credit card (Visa, MasterCard, and Discover). Tickets for the game originally went on sale on Dec. 4 and sold out within an hour.
Pitt will also be staging a "Gold Out" for the highly anticipated contest. Upon entering the Petersen Events Center, fans will receive a custom "This Is Our House" gold tee-shirt courtesy of Peoples Natural Gas.
Tipoff is at 8:30 p.m. ET for the nationally televised "Big Monday" contest on ESPN2 with Bob Wischusen and Bill Raftery making the call.
Pitt and Connecticut represent the Big East Conference's top-two winningest basketball programs over the last 10 seasons. Since the 2001-02 season, Pitt owns a 257-66 overall and 109-41 league record while Connecticut is 235-79 overall and 103-47 in Big East play.
In addition, Pitt enters the matchup with a perfect 7-0 record against top-5 ranked teams at the Petersen Events Center. Pitt is 4-1 vs. UConn at the Petersen Events Center.
