Terrell Allen figured to play a prominent role as a receiver and big-play return man last year until a ligament tear in his left wrist forced him to redshirt during the 2004 campaign...the injury was sustained during spring drills and required surgery...made a healthy return this spring and, although he needed to shake off some rust, should be a competitive factor at flanker during fall training camp...will also figure in the return game...as a true frosh in 2003, Allen evolved into a dangerous kick returner and led the team with a 23.6-yard average..."Terrell has great speed," receivers coach Aubrey Hill said. "After shaking off some of the rust from the inactive year he can help us. That speed can put pressure on a defense. He can also be a threat in the return game."
2004: Redshirted following offseason surgery on his left wrist.
2003: Played in 12 games to letter...made his first career start at Texas A&M when the Panthers opened with a three-receiver set...missed the Temple contest due to an arm laceration...averaged a team-best 23.6 yards per kick return (25 returns for 591 yards)...had a long return of 63 yards against Miami... finished with six returns for a career-best 187 yards (31.2 avg.) against West Virginia...named coaching staff's Special Teams Player of the Game for the WVU contest...also rushed for 36 yards on four carries on the season, including a 34-yard run against Texas A&M.
High School: First team All-South Carolina AAAA selection at James F. Byrnes High...two-time All-Region II AAAA...had 52 receptions for 811 yards (15.6 avg.) and five touchdowns as a senior...caught 32 passes for 628 yards (19.6 avg.) and seven touchdowns as a junior...led James F.
