2016:
Played in 10 games, starting nine at Money linebacker...missed three contests due to injury (North Carolina, Georgia Tech and Virginia)...compiled 37 tackles, 5.0 TFLs, 2.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries and a PBU on the season...had a season-high seven tackles at Miami...had two TFLs, including a 13-yard sack at Oklahoma State...had two fumble recoveries against Penn State...his initial recovery was at the PSU 12 in the first quarter and was parlayed into a touchdown and 14-0 Pitt lead in the eventual 42-39 win...was recognized for his passionate commitment to community service, which included numerous mission trips to Haiti, by being named to the 2016 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team...additionally was a Wuerffel Trophy Semifinalist and Senior CLASS Award candidate.

2015: Played in all 13 games, starting eight contests at Money linebacker...made his first career start in the opener against Youngstown State and then started the final seven contests of the year...totaled 49 tackles, 10.5 TFLs, five sacks, a fumble recovery, a forced fumble and an interception...named the ACC Linebacker of the Week for his performance at Duke...had a career-high nine tackles and three sacks, and also recovered his own forced fumble in a 31-13 win over the Blue Devils...in a 27-19 win over Virginia, made one of the game's key defensive plays when he sacked quarterback Matt Johns in the end zone for a safety...totaled five tackles, two TFLs and a sack in the UVA victory...had a nine-yard sack and a game-clinching interception in Pitt's 17-13 win at Virginia Tech.

2014: Played in four games and totaled five tackles on the year...had a season-high five stops in the opener vs. Delaware.

2013: Played in all 13 games in his first active season, primarily in special teams capacities. 2012: Redshirted as a true freshman.

HIGH SCHOOL: Finished his career as Woodland Hills' all-time tackling leader with more than 350 stops...earned a starting role midway through his freshman season and started every single game his final three years...playing middle linebacker, spearheaded a defense that held opponents to 14.2 points per game his senior year...also was a starting fullback/H-back on offense and scored two touchdowns...had a career-high 122 tackles as a junior and was named first team All-State Class AAAA by the Pennsylvania Sports Writers, Pennsylvania Football News All-Class AAAA and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette "Fabulous 22"...led team to a four-year record of 31-16 (.660) with four WPIAL playoff berths...helped Woodland Hills to the 2009 WPIAL championship and PIAA playoffs as a sophomore...played under Coach George Novak...selected to play in the Big 33 Football Classic...also a two-year letterman in wrestling...High Honors graduate of Woodland Hills...National Honor Society.

PERSONAL: Michael Anthony Caprara Jr., born 9/21/93, is the son of Melissa Davis and Michael Caprara Sr....has three sisters...has five great uncles who played college football (two at Penn State, one at Georgia, one at Michigan State and one at Notre Dame)...communication major.
