2014: Started all 13 games at cornerback...totaled 39 tackles, six PBUs and two interceptions...his two INTs tied for the team lead...had a season-high six tackles vs. Duke...had five tackles and an interception against Syracuse...his INT against the Orange came in the end zone, halting a scoring threat...intercepted a deep ball in the Iowa game, returning it 31 yards...had four tackles and a season-high two pass breakups at Miami...his final PBU against the Hurricanes came in the end zone on fourth down, allowing the Panthers to run out the final 3:27 in a 35-23 victory.
2013: Played in all 13 games, starting 12 at cornerback...totaled 44 tackles, three TFLs, four pass breakups and one fumble recovery...also had a team-high 439 kickoff return yards on 19 attempts (23.1 avg.) with a season-long return of 50 yards (vs. Notre Dame)...had a career-high seven tackles vs. Notre Dame...recovered an Irish fumble at the Pitt 6 after Ray Vinopal stripped receiver T.J. Jones of the ball following a 34-yard reception...had six tackles and a three-yard TFL vs. New Mexico.
2012: Started all 13 games at cornerback in his first active season...had 35 tackles, a team-high nine PBUs, an interception and a fumble recovery on the year...led Pitt and ranked third in the Big East with a 24.3-yard kick return average (30 returns for 729 yards)...had his first career interception against Rutgers, picking off Gary Nova's pass at the Pitt 12 and returning it 34 yards to halt a Scarlet Knights' drive...ripped a reception out of Temple wideout Deon Miller's hands for a forced fumble and fumble recovery, both the first of his career...had a season-high six tackles at Notre Dame...twice had a season-high two PBUs (Youngstown State and Notre Dame)...averaged a season-best 41.5 yards per kick return (two for 83 yards) against Gardner-Webb, including a personal-best 64-yarder...had a season-high 137 total kick return yards on five returns vs. Louisville (27.4 avg.).
2011: Redshirted as a true freshman.

PERSONAL: Lafayette E. Pitts, born 9/24/92, is the son of Marsha Pitts and Cliffton Carley...has five brothers and four sisters...is a cousin of junior defensive back Jevonte Pitts...earned his degree in administration of justice and is pursuing a second major in legal studies.
