No. 25 Pittsburgh defeated Syracuse in a crucial ACC matchup on a game-winning field goal as time expired.

2016: Played in all 13 games, handling all long snapping duties for Pitt (punts and PAT/field goals)...had two tackles on punt coverage (one each in the Virginia contest and Pinstripe Bowl vs. Northwestern).

2015: Played in all 13 games as Pitt’s long snapper for the PAT/field goal unit.

2014: Played in four games to earn his first letter...entered active duty in the season's 10th game (at North Carolina) when he began handling snapping for Pitt's PAT/field goal unit.

2013: Did not play in any games.

2012: Joined team as a fall walk-on and redshirted as a true freshman.

HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year varsity letterman under Coach Terry Totten at Pittsburgh Central Catholic...helped the Vikings to a three-year record of 30-5 (.857) and WPIAL Class AAAA playoff berths each all-conference offensive guard as a senior.

PERSONAL: Patrick Gerard Quirin, born 11/24/93, is the son of Terry and Karen Quirin...has two brothers...father was a center at Pitt (1978-81) under Coach Jackie Sherrill and played on three teams that finished 11-1 and ranked in the nation's Top 10...Pat's brother Tom played football at St. Vincent (Pa.) College...economics major.
