Allen Richardson will look to make contributions as a receiver and in the return game this year...logged most of his playing time at punt returner as a true freshman...will look to earn additional time at flanker this season...joined Pitt as a mid-year enrollee in January 2004 and participated in spring drills...originally worked at cornerback but moved to receiver during fall training camp..."Allen is a very athletic kid," receivers coach Aubrey Hill said. "He is still learning the system and all that goes into being a receiver at this point. As he continues to learn and develop as an overall receiver, we will see his playing time increase."

2004: Played in all 12 games with his primary contributions coming as a punt returner...had 30 punt returns for 107 yards (3.6 avg.)...had a long return of 17 yards versus Nebraska and Temple...also returned kickoffs earlier in the year, totaling five returns for 102 yards (20.4 avg.)...had a long kick return of 38 yards versus Furman.

High School: A three-year starter at Euclid High, playing such diverse roles as quarterback, running back, receiver, linebacker, defensive back and kick returner during his prep career...first team All-Lake Erie League...second team All-Northeast Ohio Lakes Region Division I (largest classification)...first team All-Sun Journal and News-Herald...Euclid team MVP...rushed for 744 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior...defensively had 39 tackles, two fumble recoveries and an interception...PrepStar All-Midwest Region...played under Coach Mike Rezzolla...in addition to football, also lettered in baseball and track and field.
