Pitt Football Training Camp -- Day 3 Notes and Quotes

The Panthers held a three-hour practice on Wednesday.

2013: Played in all 13 games in special teams capacities and also served as a reserve safety...totaled nine tackles on the season...had a season-high two tackles vs. New Mexico.

2012: Redshirted as a true freshman.

HIGH SCHOOL: Led all classifications in the state of Washington with more than 1,700 yards rushing as a senior at Eastlake...first team Associated Press Washington Class 4A All-State...All-KingCo 4A Crest Division...averaged nearly 9.5 yards per carry en route to 1,706 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns...led Eastlake to a 10-2 record and the quarterfinals of the WIAA Class 4A playoffs...rated the No. 13 prospect in the state of Washington by Scout...played under Coach Gene Dales...selected to play in the Washington State Football Coaches Association's annual East-West All-State Game...also ran track at Eastlake and placed fifth in the 100 meters at the 4A WIAA State Track and Field Championships with a school record time of 10.7 seconds.

PERSONAL: William Ryan Lewis, born 4/15/94, is the son of Will and Kimmberly Lewis...has two brothers and one sister...has extensive football family ties...father played cornerback at Millersville University before going on to a pro career with the NFL's Seattle Seahawks, USFL's Houston Gamblers as well as the Canadian Football League...Will Lewis also served 12 years in the Seahawks' front office and is presently the director of pro scouting for the Kansas City Chiefs...Ryan is the nephew of former Pitt cornerback Tim Lewis (1979-82), a first-round draft pick of the Green Bay Packers who is now the secondary coach for the Atlanta Falcons...has three cousins who played football at Pitt: safety Louis Riddick (1987-90), who played eight years in the NFL; cornerback Ian Riddick (2000-01); and linebacker Tristan Roberts (2007-11)...enrolled in the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences.
