Pitt football concluded spring drills with its annual game, at Bethel Park Stadium.

Walk-on transfer quarterback who will be ineligible for game competition in 2012 but can still practice...will have senior eligibility in 2013...Savage's last game action was at Rutgers during the 2010 season....was a scholarship player at Arizona in 2011 but did not play in any games due to NCAA transfer guidelines.

At Rutgers (2009-10): Seized the starting quarterback job in September `09 as a true freshman and was named the Scarlet Knights' Most Valuable Offensive Player after completing 149-of-289 passes (52%) for 2,211 yards with 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions...played in 12 total games, starting 11...threw for a career-high 294 yards on 14-of-27 passing with two TDs in a 45-24 victory over UCF in the 2009 St. Petersburg Bowl...had the most passing yards and touchdowns by a true freshman quarterback in Big East history...also had the best touchdown-to-interception ratio for any true frosh QB in the country in 2009...Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) Freshman All-America selection...played in six games, starting four as a sophomore, completing 43-of-83 passes (52%) for 521 yards and two TDs.

High School: Enjoyed a heralded career at Cardinal O'Hara High, throwing for nearly 4,000 career yards as a three-year starter...selected a U.S. Army All-American...rated the nation's No. 3 pro-style quarterback by Tom Lemming and No. 8 by SuperPrep...threw for 1,355 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior...junior season was cut short due to a foot injury but still managed to throw for more than 800 yards with eight TDs...played under Coach Dan Algeo...selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and the Big 33 Football Classic.
