2011 Scouting Report: Returning starter at quarterback who reaffirmed that status with a productive spring... owns a strong arm and the ability to make plays on his feet...the son of a coach - former Pitt All-America linebacker Sal Sunseri - Tino possesses a strong football acumen, accelerating his transition to the Panthers' new multiple no-huddle attack...honored on the 2010 Big East All-Academic Football Team.

2010: Starting quarterback for all 13 games...completed 64.5% of his passes (223 of 346) for 2,572 yards with 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions...ranked third in the Big East in pass efficiency (137.0)...had career highs in completions (28) and attempts (46) against West Virginia, throwing for 284 yards, one TD and an INT...also had a team-high 38 rushing yards, averaging 7.6 yards on five attempts vs. WVU...in the BBVA Compass Bowl vs. Kentucky, rushed for a career-high 53 yards and a TD on just four carries (13.2 avg.)...hit 69% of his passes (11 of 16) for 142 yards and a TD at USF...had key 18-yard rush late in the final period to help Pitt burn clock with a seven-point lead over the Bulls...completed 71% of his passes (20 of 28) for 220 yards with one TD and two INTs at Connecticut...completed 78% of his passes (21 of 27) for a career-high 307 yards with three TDs and one INT vs. Rutgers...completed 71% of his passes (17 of 24) for 281 yards and a career-high four TDs with no INTs at Syracuse...scoring strikes covered 79, 15, 30 and six yards...had a 218.9 passer rating vs. the Orange, which entered the game first in the Big East in pass efficiency defense (105.8 rating)...completed 27 of 39 (69.2%) for 272 yards, one TD and one INT at Notre Dame...hit his first eight passes vs. the Irish...also had his first career rushing TD at Notre Dame (four yards)...threw for 275 yards and two TDs vs. New Hampshire, completing 24 of 34 (70.6%)...closed FIU game by hitting 13 of final 14 passes...finished 15 of 23 for 169 yards and a TD against FIU.

2009: Played in five games as the chief backup at quarterback...completed 10 of 17 for 114 yards with two TDs and no INT...threw his first career TD pass, a six-yarder to Aundre Wright, in the opener against Youngstown State...was 5-of-8 passing for 80 yards against YSU, all season highs...other TD pass was a five-yarder to Dorin Dickerson against USF.

2008: Redshirted as a true freshman.

High School: Guided Pittsburgh Central Catholic to a 16-0 record and the PIAA and WPIAL Class AAAA championships as a senior...the PrepStar All-American threw 23 touchdown passes against just four interceptions on the year...overall Sunseri completed 110-of-200 passes (55%) for 1,960 yards...named to The Associated Press Pennsylvania Class AAAA All-State Team (second team)... Pittsburgh Post-Gazette "Fabulous 22"...Pittsburgh Tribune-Review "Terrific 25"...rated the nation's No. 24 quarterback by Rivals and Scout...rated Pennsylvania's No. 22 overall prospect by Keystone Recruiting, No. 26 by Rivals and Scout and No. 30 by SuperPrep...rated No. 91 on Scout's East Top 100 list...SuperPrep All-Northeast Team...played under Coach Terry Totten...selected to play in the Big 33 Football Classic...prior to Central Catholic, attended Weddington High in North Carolina, where he was an all-section quarterback, throwing for 1,800 yards and 18 TDs against just six picks his junior year...led Weddington to a 10-2 mark and the conference title...also a basketball letterman.

Personal: Santino M. Sunseri, born 12/21/88, is the son of Sal and Roxann Sunseri... has two sisters and one brother...both of Tino's parents are Pitt products and former standout athletes for the Panthers...father was an All-America linebacker at Pitt, lettering from 1979-81...Sal, who also graduated from Central Catholic, was on Pitt's coaching staff from 1984-92 and currently is the assistant head coach/linebackers coach at Alabama...mother was an All-East gymnast at Pitt and a high school state champion...brother Vinnie is a freshman defensive back for the Crimson Tide...communication major.
