2014: Played in seven games in his first active season to letter...contributed on special teams and as a reserve tight end.2013: Redshirted as a true freshman.
HIGH SCHOOL: Two-year starter for St. John's Jesuit, playing tight end and safety for the Ohio Division I (largest classification) program...Northwest All-District...All-Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC)...limited to only six games as a senior due to injury but still had 15 receptions for more than 200 yards...primarily a defensive player his junior year and compiled 64 tackles, four tackles for loss and two interceptions...a three-year letterman who helped St. John's to a 22-11 record (.667) during his varsity career...played under Coach Doug Pearson...also played basketball with All-Ohio Red, a top AAU program.
PERSONAL: Anthony Roman Harper, born 10/15/94, is the son of Stanley and Kendra Harper Jr....has one brother and one sister...comes from a football family and has three cousins with ties to the college or pro game...Willie Harper was an All-America linebacker at Nebraska who went on to win a Super Bowl (1981 season) as a member of the San Francisco 49ers, Matt Harper played safety at Oregon and is now an assistant defensive backs coach with the Philadelphia Eagles and Josh Harper was a wide receiver at Fresno State who signed with the Oakland Raiders as a free agent...sociology major.
