 Heinz Field Security

Guests at Heinz Field are asked to cooperate with security personnel to ensure the safety of all guests. Effective August 2012, security pat-downs at the entrances of Heinz Field will be replaced with handheld metal detectors. Express lanes will be available for guests that do not have additional permitted items on their person. Guests using the express lanes will still be required to be scanned by the handheld metal detectors; however, those with additional permitted items will also need to have those items inspected. In addition, fans who wear or bring heavy clothing, jackets, or blankets may be asked to open such items for inspection and screening by handheld metal detectors. The following items are not permitted:
  • Bags

  • Back Packs

  • Coolers (hard/soft sided)

  • Thermoses

  • Large purses (larger than 8-1/2 x 11)

  • Cans

  • Bottles

  • Flasks

  • Alcoholic Beverages

  • Laser Pointers

  • Strollers

  • Video/Movie Cameras

  • Tripods

  • Audio Recording Equipment

  • Banners/Signs on Poles

  • Weapons

  • Any other item deemed dangerous and/or inappropriate
Small purses, small camera cases, binocular cases and diaper bags will be permitted, however; all items that do not pass security must be returned to vehicles. Heinz Field is NOT responsible for items left at gates.
