Panthers football slated to be seen on national television twice during the 2001 season.

PITTSBURGH-The University of Pittsburgh football team will make its first appearance on the NBC television network in five years when the Panthers play at Notre Dame this Oct. 6.

The game, which will have a 2:30 p.m. (EDT) kickoff, is Pittsburgh's second announced nationally televised game of the season. The Panthers' Sept. 27 home game with Miami will also be a national telecast on ESPN as part of the Panthers 2001 schedule.

Pittsburgh matched a school record with 10 television games during its 2000 Insight.com Bowl season.
