Former Pitt tight end Dorin Dickerson had an impressive showing over the weekend during the 2010 NFL Draft Scouting Combine, posting several numbers that were among the best both in his position group and overall at the combine.

Dickerson ran a 4.40-second 40-yard dash, which was .16 seconds faster than the No. 2 tight end's time. Additionally, Dickerson's 43-inch vertical jump was first among all players at the combine and was the highest by 3.5 inches among all tight ends. His broad jump (10'5") was first among tight ends and second overall.

Dickerson was also third among tight ends in the three-cone drill (6.9 seconds) and the 20-yard shuttle (4.3 seconds), while finishing fourth in bench press reps (24).

Dickerson (Imperial Pa./West Allegheny) was named first team All-America (Football Writers Association of America) after the 2009 season, becoming Pitt's first All-America tight end since Mike Ditka in 1960. His 49 catches for 529 yards earned him first team All-Big East honors, and his 10 touchdowns set a Pitt tight end record. Dickerson was also a finalist for the John Mackey Award in 2009.

The 2010 NFL Draft begins on Thursday, April 22, at 7:30 p.m. in New York City and runs through Saturday, April 24.
