Coach Paul Chryst Quote Sheet

On today's practice:

"It was a good practice. I thought we got some work done. We were successful on one end, and there are things that need to be corrected on the other. We’re two-thirds done with spring ball, so we need to regroup and make sure we finish strong.”

On the physicality of today’s practice:

"I love the physical part of it. I think when you play physical it’s because you’re confident in what you’re doing and where you’re going. Obviously, a couple guys got dinged up. We don’t want that by any means but I like the physical part of it.”

On defensive tackle Tyrique Jarrett:

"He has been making plays. I think he came into spring practice with a great attitude. He’s been working hard and working on his body. I think that’s important. He went through spring drills last year, so he knew what to expect. He’s gotten more reps than he did last year, and I think he’s taking advantage of that opportunity. I like the way Tyrique is working hard.”

“When you take a look at the group of guys we have here [on the defensive line], you can make an argument that we need them all to make a big impact. With Tyrique, we’ve talked to him about not feeling like he needs to replace Aaron Donald. We have a couple guys who can work together to fill that void a little bit. One way of doing that is to play more guys for fewer snaps so that they’re always going all out and playing to their strengths. Tyrique is certainly in that mix.”

On cornerback Titus Howard:

"He’s a guy that puts himself in good positions to make plays. I thought that last year. He’s a tough, physical player. He needs to continue to work on his body and strength, but he won’t shy away from contact.”
