Episodes of SportsCenter Special: Jon Gurden’s QB Camp with Nathan Peterman will debut on Saturday, April 22 at 10 a.m. with the 30-minute program’s initial airing on ESPN2. The feature will air a total of 29 times before and after next week’s three-day NFL Draft in Philadelphia, which begins with the first round on Thursday and continues with Friday’s second and third rounds before concluding on Saturday.

Since his lengthy meeting with Peterman for the show, Coach Gruden has expressed how impressed he was with quarterback who last season led the highest-scoring offense in Pitt Football history.
In a conference call on Wednesday, Gruden even went as far as to say that if he were a head coach in the NFL looking to draft a quarterback that could start right away, he’d look no further than Peterman.
“I like the kid at Pitt, honestly,” Gruden said. “He’d allow us to do just about anything in the gameplan. I think he throws the ball pretty darn good, he’s athletic and very sharp. I’d probably go with Peterman, if I had to play him in a few months. I’m smitten with him a little bit as a player.”
Peterman, who is looking to join Tom Savage (2014), Dan Marino (1983) and Matt Cavanuagh (1978) as Pitt QBs selected in the first seven rounds of the NFL Draft, was one of six Panthers who participated in the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis in March, giving Pitt the possibility of having its biggest draft class in many years.

The Panthers last had five NFL Draft selections in 2011, but Pitt has not had six players picked since 2004.
