Question: You led the team in tackles and interceptions last year. What goals have you set for yourself this season, your senior year?
Jason: I want to become a leader for this team and take my play to another level; being the best I can be.
Question: What part of your game specifically have you focused on getting better this off season?
Jason: Tackling, of course. I think tackling is huge and there is always room for improvement. Also, covering and playing the field.
Question: The defensive backfield is relatively young. Are you trying to be more of a vocal leader, or are you trying to let your play speak for you?
Jason: I am trying to be more of a vocal leader this year. I mostly lead by example – by my play – but I am trying to step out of my comfort zone and be more vocal. I think Coach Chryst is helping me with that as well.
Question: The defense had a great year last year. What can we expect from the defensive unit this year?
Jason: I think we will all step up to the plate because there is more experience. We have a lot of people coming back and we have that chemistry. That will be helpful this season.
Question: What are you most looking forward to in the ACC? What game sticks out in particular?
Jason: Of course the first game, but I think every game is an important game for us. Especially our first year in the ACC, I think every game will be important because we will be judged on how we play every game.
