Pitt Football Kickoff Times Announced

PITTSBURGH--The Pitt Athletic Department today announced kickoff times for the first three football games of the 2009 season.

The Panthers will open their 120th season against Youngstown State on Sept. 5. The game will have a 1 p.m. kickoff at Heinz Field.

Pitt will then visit Mid-American Conference (MAC) champion Buffalo for a noon game on Sept. 12. The contest will be televised by ESPN Regional.

On Sept. 19 the Panthers return to Heinz Field to host Navy at 6 p.m. Perennially one of the country's top independents, the Midshipmen will be shooting for a seventh consecutive bowl berth this year.

Additional known start times for the 2009 season include the Oct. 2 game at Louisville (8 p.m., ESPN2) and Oct. 16 at Rutgers (8 p.m., ESPN).

Other kickoff times and television clearances will be announced at later dates.

Season-ticket packages are currently on sale for as low as $82 and can be purchased online (PittsburghPanthers.com), by phone (800/643-PITT) or in person at the Petersen Events Center ticket office.
