Quoting Miami Head Coach Al Goden
On how the team came to Pittsburgh and played hard:
"We challenged them early in the week on that to be honest with you. They have a great attitude. They know what's at stake: the chance to win No. 9, ultimately a chance for a 10-win season. It wasn't pretty, but it was a good win for us on the road."
On the team playing in the cold weather:
"They don't want to be labeled in that kind of group. They just want to go play. They've been through a lot of adversity. They don't want to hear about weather. What does weather mean compared to what they've been through the last 28 months? I think that maybe this is a new breed and maybe a new mindset that they have. If some of the seniors helped us learn that today, then that's great."
Quoting Quarterback Stephen Morris
On having a good game:
"I'm pleased with my performance, but there are a couple things we need to work on. I thought it was a good performance by the offensive group. Offensive line did a great job up front. You want to keep running the football. Whenever you're able to do that, I think it's a successful day."
On Allen Hurns' and his performance:
"He's reliable. You know he did a great job today. He got 1,000 yards [this season]; that's just a testament to how hard he's worked in the offseason. He's consistent and I'm really proud of him. He's one of those guys that looks at the game differently. He looks at the game at a quarterback stand point. He does a great job at understanding coaches."
Quoting Center Jared Wheeler
On how Miami dealt with the cold weather:
"We were talking all week that we weren't going to let the cold weather affect us at all because we are tired of everyone telling us that it's a cold game and that Miami won't play well."
On scoring two touchdowns in the first three minutes:
"It makes you feel real good."
Quoting Punter Pat O'Donnell
On recovering a fumble on the opening kickoff:
"All week Coach [Al] Golden has been talking about the kickoff and we were fortunate enough to get the first play and it bounced our way, making all the guys pretty excited."
On reflecting on the season:
"It's been a blast for me. I'm thankful that we're not done yet and hopefully move forward next week and see how the games go this weekend. We are very fortune to be playing in a big time bowl game here coming up and the season is not cut too short."
